The Story of San Michele is a book of memoirs by Swedish physician Axel Munthe (Octo –Febru ) first published in by British publisher John n in English, it was a best-seller in numerous languages and has been republished constantly in the over seven decades since its original release. In the Spanish princess H.R.H. the Infanta Doña Eulalia of Spain married her first cousin Antonio de Orléans y de Borbón, Infante of Spain and Duke of Galliera of political reasons. She was compensated with magnificent jewels, this fabulous necklace was the present from her godparents and parents-in-law, the Duke and Duchess of Montpensier.
Reviewers of this book seem to have found considerable difficulty in attempting to classify the Story of San Michele, and I do not wonder. Some have described the book as an Autobiography, others have called it "The Memoirs of a Doctor." As far as I . Litchfield Hills. SEE Masters, Edgar Lee. New World. SEE Masters, Edgar Lee. Whitman.
